Article 1 (Installation)

The institute shall commission an editorial committee to review matters related to research papers.

 

Article 2 (Composition)

The editorial committee comprises two subcommittees with overlapping membership: the editorial deliberations committee deciding on publication, and the editorial operations committee setting aims and procedures for the submission of papers.

 

Article 3 (Committee Member Selection Criteria and Procedures)

Item-1. The chief editor will chair the editorial operations committee as well as its executive committee, and shall be appointed by the chancellor as recommended by the director of institute.

Item-2. The members of the committee are distinguished scholars appointed by the director of the learned institute as recommended by the chief editor. (The members of the committee should be evenly distributed between the humanities and social sciences fields.)

Item-3. The chief editor consists of two persons. One is responsible for Korean language material, and the other is responsible for material in English. The editor in charge of Korean language does the general editorial work and convenes meetings.

Item-4. The chief editor recommends the vice-chief editor and the secretary to oversee the administrative process of the editorial review, and the director of the institute appoints them.

Item-5. The term of members of the committee is five years, but they can serve consecutive terms.

Item-6. The members of the editorial committee serve as members of the editorial operations committee and the editorial deliberations committee. The director of this learned institute serves as a de facto member of the editorial operations committee and may present opinions.

 

Article 4 (Editorial Operations Committee and Editorial Deliberations Committee Meetings)

Item-1. The chairman shall convene the editorial operations committee to decide the aims and objectives of the collection of papers submitted.

Item-2. The editorial deliberations committee convenes a publication-related meeting four times annually, but the chief editor can convene a special meeting as circumstances warrant.

Item-3. Valid decisions of the editorial operations and editorial deliberations committees require a quorum of at least a majority of committee members, and the approval of the majority of members present.

Item-4. Members of the editorial operations and editorial deliberations committees must individually sign off on their attendance and all proceedings.

 

Article 5 (Subjects of Concern to the Editorial Deliberation Committee)

The editorial deliberations committee reviews the following matters:

1. Planning and execution of paper submitted

2. Matters related to the review of manuscripts submitted (inspection rules, allocation of qualifications, etc.)

3. Matters related to publication

4. Other matters as deemed necessary
